Realistic HiHat?

Hi there!

I installed hydrogen yesterday and I'm really astounded by the depth and realism of the sound...

...Though there's one drawback; the Hi-Hat's aren't realistic enough, meaning in particular the interplay between closed Hi-Hat and open Hi-Hat samples (when closed Hi-Hat is played open Hi-Hat shouldn't sound anymore).

Since I don't think that I'm the first one who misses this 'feature', my question: Are there any workarounds to get my desired result?

You can set up instrument groups which will mute one sound when the other plays. Have a look in the instrument panel.

This makes hats and snares much more realistic.

Hey, that's great!!!

Though I searched for it and I kinda can't find the particular part in the documentation...

Can someone tell me in detail how to achieve that?

The documentation's not very detailed anyways...
Since I still don't understand the Layers-Section. They're for multi-layered instruments right? But when I load two or more Layers into an instrument there's still just the sound of the first layer...

I kinda feel sorry for askin' so many (maybe dumb) questions though I really can't find the answers and experimenting didn't help neither in my case.

Thanks in advance!

the muted groups are in the svn 9.4 version only I think.
I got 9.3 running also and don't see those groups but it's on the svn.
it works really good on the svn but it is not complete yet.

:( That's too bad. I kinda don't wanna install development versions... it's kinda don't know... I just don't like it even if there're no issues... I guess I'll have to wait.
