Problem with moving the boxes inside the browser

Hey dudes,

I just got Hydrogen, and was really excited to stop beat boxing every time I needed a beat track.

I opened the application, worked great. But then I moved the three boxes it starts out with, and then moved one up. Now I can't move it back down, because I can click on the top most part of the little window thing inside the browser.

Is there a key I press to move the little windows inside the main window?

Thanks.

Hey!

Sorry, i don't know about such a key.. But you could try our development version, which has a single document interface. It should be stable enough for daily use and comes with a lot of new features..

Thanks man.

I'm still shaky with linux. I should remove the current version of Hydrogen then?

I'll do my best.

Peace.

If you're a 'new and shaky' linux user, I guess compiling hydrogen can be an intimidating experience. A new version will (if all goes well) come out this fall, and be made easily installable through e.g. Ubuntu repositories. Until then:

In the old hydrogen you can choose between different window modes. It sounds like you been using the one with 'child windows'. If you go to File > Preferences > Appearence, select "interface mode" and choose "top level". Then all the 'boxes' will have their own window, and you can move them around easily.

You know that in Linux, Alt+Click and drag usually allows moving windows without having to click on the title bar.

Hey man,

The problem was actually I was in the Child option, haha. the windows within the windows got stuck because the top part went outside the clicking perimeter. But your suggestion fixed it because I did want you said and just changed it to another appearance.

Much appreciated.
