Edit: Okay, I failed to do my homework and see if this problem has already been posted. It has. It seems to be a bug. I guess I'll just try saving the file with different effects or just leave it as is.

The redundant post follows:

After finally getting the hang of putting effects to my song, I decided to come back and mess with the song some more.

Unfortunately, every time I try and open the file, I get:

Assertion Failed!

Program C:\Program Files\Hydrogen\Hydrogen.exe
File: src\Hydrogen.cpp
Line 658

Expression: pFX->m_pBuffer_L

I reinstalled Hydrogen and opened the file with no problem, but after I added the plugins and restarted Hydrogen I got the above message again.

Now, I could just remove the plugins and use the song as is, but what's the fun in that?

Any suggestions? Could this be a memory issue? I've noticed that Hydrogen (at least on my pc) eats up quite a bit. It will eventually get bogged down and give me a Hydrogen needs to close window. I will eventually give Hydrogen its dedicated pc when I full get the hang of creating music with it.

Also, is Hydrogen more stable under linux? The dedicated pc I'm thinking of giving my music proggies will run linux.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, Hydrogen is defintely most stable on linux. All development takes place on Linux, the Windows-Port is abandoned (at the moment). If you want to get new features and support, use Linux :)

Thanks. I'll do that. I was using fedora core for a while, but abandoned it because I could only play my games in windows. Sad I know.
