Hi, I'm new to linux based systems do you guys have any pointers or suggestions how how I can go about building and compiling from source files. Any helpfull threads or videos that are available specificly for hydrogen? I tried to do it this way but got some errors at the end. Was wondering if there is an easier way.

what I was able to get working is when I did

$sudo apt-get install hydrogen

$hydrogen

But I dont think this is considered as built and compiled from source. What I'm trying to do is change the color of the instrument_line_selected and the instrument_line. I did this to the images in paint I just painted over the original images and tried to run the same program but the interface did not change. I think I need to compile the new edited program with the new images. Or I don't know what I need to do. Need help.

$sudo apt-get install hydrogen  is simply going to install the Hydrogen version from the repo's that are available on your system

if you want to modify the code you need to get the code (from github), change it as you see fit, and build it

if you are new a building/compiling i suggest you search for some tutorials on building (and maybe also on usding QTcreator)

what is the location of the images you painted over ?
