Hi All,

I used to trigger the play/stop event of my H2 version 0.9.5 via midi command from my Roland GR-55. I can still do it on version 0.9.6 but now I don't find a way to make H2 NOT to play the notes. I just want H2 to play/stop the sequence/song/pattern I already prepared, not to play the notes messages which comes from GR-55.

I already tried on GR-55 to make it only send the CC midi messages, but AFAIK is only possible to switch on/off the whole midi message sending. I also already tried to change in H2 the MIDI drivers (ALSA/JackMidi). Both work very fine but none of them let me deactivate the notes receiving.

All I can find in internet are videos or articles explaining the basics of MIDI (How to make virtual connections with jack and so on...) It seems that MIDI is a complicated subject despite it is already so many years on the market.

OS: Arch Linux 3.16.1-1-ARCH

Hi Jeff,

huh, i remember that i implemented this option once where you can define that no note-on event will be triggered when hydrogen receives a midi CC messages, but i can't see it in the preferences dialog anymore. This is certainly strange.. Could you file a bug report at github (https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen) ? You can also create a ticket there for the "Make autosave optional" thing there. Creating a ticket helps to stay in contact with you in case we have in question or the bug got solved..

I just opened a issue regarding MIDI notes message switch as you suggested Sebastian: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues/195

As I understand, someone must tag it as a bug, right ?

Many tanks for your help.

Regards,

Jeff
