Bass sound clicks

I have a strange problem, when I am making a beat with hydrogen, the bass sounds, no matter what kit i use, make a *clicking* sound, like a motorcycle or something, I'm not sure how to explain it.

But when I export they sound clean. Does anyone know what might be happening here? I would like them to sound clean while editing.

Thanks

oh, im using version 0.9.3 on Ubuntu 8.04 from Synaptic.

Maybe its just clipping ? Have you checked the peak values in the mixer ?

Thanks for the reply, but sadly I don't think that is the issue, the levels are maxing out at .58

Could it have to do with the JACK thing? i have no clue really what that is, but I know that Hydrogen uses it, and other applications do not.

This is a recording i made of what I hear coming from my speakers while in hydrogen.

again, note that when i export, it sounds clear

Hi Tony,

please try using hydrogen with the alsa driver just to make sure that its not a jack problem.
Thanks,
Sebastian

Hi!

The problem with jack is often that hydrogen ( or a single instrument ) is connected twice to an output. Just a guess for other people with the same problem..
