Hi, first many thanks for building such a great soft !

I'm not new to linux but I'm very new to hydrogen (and linux audio/midi). I'm a DJ and my final goal is to use hydrogen in my set.

I'm trying to connect my nanokontrol to hydrogen (with alsa for the moment).

the controller is connected (i can see the midi-in lighting when I move the controls).

However nothing is happening ...

Any idea to configure hydrogen or the nanokontrol ? Any link to help me understand the way to make my nanokontrol control the hydrogen mixer ?

Many thanks in advance, sorry for the newbie post (I have search a lot -linuxaudio, etc ...).

Fran?ois.

Hi!

Yes, it is possible via the midi dialog (preferences -> midi-tab) in hydrogen 0.9.4. Sorry that there is no manual for this yet, i'm writing it at the moment)
But it should be self-explaining if you play a little bit with the actions. Just press the red record button, operate your controller and then choose an action. Please ask if it works not. I wrote the midi controller support some month ago, but it is not well tested at the moment..

Hey guys.
Thanks again for this great software! It would be really great if one can connect a midi controller like nanocontrol (I like the BCF 2000). Now to my question:
I'm on Ubuntu Studio now which comes with hydrogen 0.9.3. Before that, i played a little bit with the Jack-Lab distribution. In both both versions I can not find the red record button you mentioned.
Do I have to update to 0.9.4 (I think I tried that with Jack Lab, but it didn't work)...?

Yes, it's only available in 0.9.4.

Woooow! Thanks! I didn't ever think to get an answer so fast! So, not only the software is GREAT, but also the people behind it!

Ok .. i think I'll try to build a 0.9.4 Hydrogen...

OK ... even install was fast, as there was a binary package for my ubuntu. Noq I've got my BCF 2000 Controller working. Really amazing! Great work!

But again, a question:
Hydrogen does not send the midi controller messages, when something is changed from PC side? So, the only way, the control data is send, is from Midi controller to hydrogen. Is that right?
