Tutorial horribly outdated and bad english

Hello,

Hydrogen is a very nice software BUT...

It comes with a tutorial that looks like it was written with a very old version of Hydrogen. The interface looks almost nothing like the current version.

Also, the english translation looks like it was done with Bablefish.

In many parts the english tutorial doesn't make any sense at all.

I found it was more difficult to learn to use Hydrogen with the tutorial than it was to learn it by myself, mashing random buttons.

Example:

"Since we have written the base pattern, now we should already know the basis."

Know the basis? The basis of what?

"To create the first verse we just have to copy from the Song Editor the pattern "intro_a" and rename, say, to "A-B-C_1", because it is the first bar of the verse that eventually will also fit for the bridge (B) and the chorus (C)."

Makes zero sense. Maybe it makes sense in German...

"Pay attention, why can't we just add 2 more 'X' next to this pattern?"

Clearly I am already paying attention or I would not be reading this in the first place. Also, how do I "add 2 more 'x' next to this pattern?" There's no place to add an "X" anywhere in the interface. It took some time for me to guess you wanted me to click into the Song Editor to light up one of the little blue squares. I'm assuming that many revisions ago, instead of little blue squares there were X's in the Song Editor boxes.

Hi,

there is a new tutorial in our svn repository[1], but it is not really finished.
Feel free to contribute!

I've been using Hydrogen a while, and thought I'd contribute. I can write C++, but I can also write English.

So I'd thought I'd start off with some edits and additions to the tutorial.

Once I've got some additions to the tutorial, does the submission follow the same procedure as submitting code patches?

Hi!

It's very easy. Just use svn to checkout the tutorial and run "svn diff" after you're finished. Please register at our development mailinglist if you're interested in the hydrogen development !
Just ask here if you need help, i'm happy to help you..

OK thanks, just wanted to make sure it was the same procedure with svn.

And yep, already registered.
