Export to chart with Lilypond

Hello,

I’m been using more of Hydrogen recently to generate a MIDI output for composed songs.
I also wanted to have a chart of this songs. Using Lilypond software for instance.

All necessary data to generate a chart is inside Hydrogen; thus I find it absurd (and painfully long) that if have to rewrite everything into a Lilypond text file to generate my chart!

My online searches gave my a 2008 Perl script trying to do this, or some other half-done very small side-projects. But it would be best if we had an option “Export to Lilypond” just alongside “Export to MIDI” right?

As I am fully aware that just speaking of this feature will not make it happen, I will attempt to develop it myself. I am confident that I shall succeed.

I created this post because it is the 12th way of contributing to Hydrogen, and also some may have comments on this. Maybe it is an unwanted feature on Hydrogen, or maybe there is already some work on it that I did not find.

Anyway, I’ll start development in the meantime, and we’ll see where it leads!

Sweat, let us know when you've got something ready to be tested.

I actually continued the discussion on the developer mailing list. I will no longer post here unless someone has some things to say about LilyPond export.

The first version of the feature is implemented here: https://github.com/Shaac/hydrogen/tree/lilypond

Yep, I saw that you posted on the ML. And I saw your pull request on github. I'll be giving it a go if I find some time (no promise here) and will feed you back on github and/or the ML.

Cheers.
