Hydrogen keeps crashing - Debian

HI everyone,

I have an issue with Hydrogen running on Debian Jessie. It seems to be crashing, mostly when inserting a new instrument from the library with a drag-and-drop. However, it sometimes also randomly crashes for no apparent reason in the middle of playback.

These crashes occur pretty frequently, usually only a couple of minutes after starting the program.

Any ideas about what could be causing this ?

Thanks,

D.

Hi tarche,

what you could do, is starting hydrogen from the command line (just write "hydrogen" in a terminal, then enter) and report back the message it'll display when crashing.

By the way, which hydrogen version are you using ? The one from the deibna repos (ie 0.9.6.1) ?

All the best,

Olivier

Hi Olinuxxx, thanks for your answer.

Here is the message when hydrogen crashes :

  hydrogen: /build/buildd/hydrogen-0.9.6.1/src/core/src/basics/instrument_list.cpp :202 : void H2Core::InstrumentList::move(int, int):  l'assertion « idx_b >= 0 && idx_b < __instruments.size() » a échoué.
Abandon

Also, I realised when starting from the terminal that there are a lot of errors that have some to do with the kits. There is one of these for each kit.

Erreur XSDError dans file:///usr/share/hydrogen/data/drumkits/3355606kit/drumkit.xml, à la ligne 1, colonne 14 : No definition for element drumkit_info available.

(E) XMLDoc::read XML document /usr/share/hydrogen/data/drumkits/3355606kit/drumkit.xml is not valid (/usr/share/hydrogen/data/xsd/drumkit.xsd), loading may fail
(E) Legacy::load_drumkit loading drumkit with legacy code

Maybe this is related ?

Yes, I'm using 0.9.6.1.

Thanks again for your time !

Hi tarche,

I've packaged the 0.9.7-beta2 version for LibraZiK which is based on Debian Jessie. As you're running a Debian Jessie, this is safe for you to use this package. You'll find it here : http://download.tuxfamily.org/librazik/premierpas/pool/main/h/hydrogen/ .

Hope that helps,

Salut !

Olivier
