Hi , I am hopelessly lost , a few years agao I managed to write drum programs and then ad a guitar track using Audacity , importing midi/raw file , I have lost how to even get the drum track into Audacity , it seemed to arrive in the sequening window , but would not play , could somebody take pity on this frustrated old muso and give me a dummies guide to adding tracks to Audacity , starting with Hydrogen drum track , ? . I have two albums of original music , the first is ready to start with chords words and bass patterns , I have a Roland Guitar synth , gr30 , everything is ready but my ability to manage the software .

I am wondering if midi is the right format , I am going to try and convert H2 drum track to audio file and also use audio line in not midi in to try and get around all this reading problems , I now have my guitar synth into my line in on my sound card sounds great , I am in Ubuntu , I open up Audacity and try and get my signal to trigger the sound meter , Audacity is not responding to the line in signal , so now I am trying to find the command to tell Audacity to listen to the line in ?

I am slowly making progress , to export drum track/song , to Audacity , select "song" from the export options , then go find the wav file your computer has created , and drag and drop it or import it by name to Audacity , the track should then play making it possible to ad more tracks .
