Clipping at any volume

Hi folks,

I'm running 0.9.4 on Snow Leopard, and having a small problem with clipping using everything on the default settings. If I simply click a drum sound (kick, snare, etc), it sounds great, but if I create a pattern and play it back, there's some clipping at odd intervals throughout.

It seems that the more hits I have per section, the more clipping it gets, as though the system's running out of resources. I have 16GB of RAM, and it happens even if I have one track with one single drum sound - for example ONLY a kick drum every 4th beat.

Any insight on troubleshooting would very much be appreciated. Thank you!

Hey!

Have you tried to turn the main volume in the mixer a little bit down? In most cases the clipping comes just from an instrument which is too loud.

Thanks for the reply - yeah, I have the levels quite low. Nothing is actually clipping on the meter, but the audio playback clips like crazy anyway. It's rather odd.

And actually, now that I'm playing around with it a bit more, it's JUST the kick that is clipping. If I click the entry under GMKit, it's fine, but if I put it into a pattern and play it, it clips all over the place, even with the volume at about 1/4 of what I have the rest of the kit set at. (snare, etc)
