Out of sync / dragging, rushing

Hi guys,

I'm trying to run Hydrogen as standalone, but it's completely out-of-sync with the BPM, it keeps rushing and dragging all the time, no matter if I keep "humanize" at 0. My buffer is at 1000.

Am I doing something wrong, perhaps? AFAIK I shouldn't need an RT kernel anymore, right?!

Thanks,

Diogo

Hi!

Which audio system are you using? Have you tried to use the jack audio system?

Hi,

Strangely enough, with PulseAudio it works fine, and with Jack being started by Hydrogen too, however it freezes if I have Jack already running (started by QjackCtl). And with ALSA directly I have this dragging/rushing problem.

Thanks,

Diogo

Thanks but that's not what I was asking for :)

Which *distribution* (Debian, Mageia, Arch, ...) ? and which version of it?

Sorry, I should have pasted more info, I thought it was clear in my previous one which distro I'm using. Anyway, here it goes:

$ lsb_release -a

LSB Version:1.4

Distributor ID:Arch

Description:Arch Linux

Release:rolling

Codename:n/a

Hi, it's clearer this way. Thanks for the info.

So it works with PulseAudio, and with jackd whe nstarted by Hydrogen but not when already running, nor with ALSA. It sounds to me this is more a audio layer issue with your distro audio setup. I've got no knowledge with Arch so I'll not be able to help you on this. Perhaps I can advice you to check that with the Hydrogen Arch package maintainer?

Cheers.

I'll do that, perhaps other people are having the same issue with the package in Arch Linux too.

Thanks!
