Hi,

I use hydrogen 0.9.4.1-1ubuntu3 of ubuntu repositories of 10.10. When I defined new instrument and I want to put new file in new layer, it crashed.

in console when I run hydrogen I see:

AcquireRealTime error
JackPosixSemaphore::TimedWait err = La crida al sistema ha estat interrompuda

or

(E) FLACFile_real load Error in init()
(E) FLACFile_real load [load] Error in process_until_end_of_stream()

depending of type of the file.

Any hint?

Thanks in advance,
Xan.

Hi!

Is it possible that the file is somehow damaged or that it is very large?
Does it happen with every file?

Yes, with every file. Or at least 3 or 4 ;-)

I file a bug in ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hydrogen/+bug/718387 with extra info.

Can someone debug it?

Thanks,
Xan.

Hi,

after a look at your logs at the ubuntu launchpad i think that you run out of memory. What does 'ulimit -a' report? If there is limit, you can use "ulimit -c unlimited" to go around that... How big are the layers that you want to load?

ulimit gives me:

xan@gerret:~$ ulimit -a
core file size (blocks, -c) 0
data seg size (kbytes, -d) unlimited
scheduling priority (-e) 20
file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
pending signals (-i) 16382
max locked memory (kbytes, -l) 64
max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
open files (-n) 1024
pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 8
POSIX message queues (bytes, -q) 819200
real-time priority (-r) 0
stack size (kbytes, -s) 8192
cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
max user processes (-u) unlimited
virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited
file locks (-x) unlimited

If I run ulimit -c unlimited, how to revert changes?

Thanks a lot,
Xan.
