Absolute paths for default kit

Hi,

(Thanks for all the work on hydrogen btw, it's a great piece of software).

I just downloaded the 0.9.6-alpha1 windows release and did some work on an existing file that I'd previously created in 0.9.4 on my Mac. I notice when I've saved the song, the .h2song file now has absolute (windows) paths to the drum flac files, whereas before they were just filenames, which I expect the application knew where to look for.

I'm only using the GMkit right now, but when I  share the h2song file with my mac, it can't find the flac files , for obvious reasons. Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks!

Bob

note: I can strip out the path information myself, but when I resave the file the windows 0.9.6-alpha version seems to replace it back in, whilst the 0.9.5 os x version just uses the filename.

thats true, in moment there exist an inconsistency between this both versions.

the best will be if you download the new 0.9.5 source code and compile it under osx (instructions are here).

because the new windows version works well together with the final 0.9.5 release version.

Excellent - thanks for the quick response, I'll give that a try over the next few days. Thanks again for all your hard work!

super, can you give a feedback if you have compilled a new 0.9.5 dmg. we have no 0.9.5 final dmg's. to compile under osx is not a tribal job. so we are really happy about osx build experience.

thx

Hi,

I started the process of building with Macports (option 2), and I hit a couple of problems -

1) MacPorts - It complained about Jack already being installed - I just omitted this from the sudo port install list and it progressed fine.

2) SVN checkout - failed with

svn: In directory 'trunk/data/doc/img'

svn: Can't open file 'trunk/data/doc/img/.svn/tmp/text-base/director.png.svn-base': No such file or directory

I tried with the 0.9.5 tag too, with the same result. I got past this by using the source bundle from the download site.

3) I'm now blocked at the build stage. When I run the scons command, it's not finding the libraries it needs.

Initially I get this:

Checking for sndfile >= 1.0.18 ... no

a libsndfile version >= 1.0.18 is reqired!

I'm not that familiar with macports, but I can see via this command:

 sudo port installed|grep libsnd

that I have libsndfile installed:

  libsndfile @1.0.24_0 (active)

Also, the QTDIR path that the doc advises to set (/opt/local/libexec/qt4-mac) does not exist. Again, macports reports that qt4-mac is installed and active:

sudo port installed|grep qt4

  qt4-mac @4.7.2_1+quartz (active)

I'm assuming this is just a paths issue, but I'm begining to clutch at straws and I'd like to stay as close to the documentation as I can.

Thanks!

Bob

P.S. The regular docs are actually unavailable right now, I'm going from a text version at

http://trac.assembla.com/hydrogen/wiki/development%3AcompileOSX?format=txt

Is that current?
