wolke's picture

Firstly, many thanks to all involved people especially Jeremy.

New main features:

  • Undo/redo in Song-editor and Pattern-editor
  • cmake instead scons as build-system
  • Jack session support

Beside this few new features Jeremy cleaned up a lot of code and refactored many classes. He create a great new code base for future development.

How to get it?

Hydrogen 0.9.6 is only available via subversion.

svn checkout

For all new dependences, OBLIGATORY read INSTALL.txt.

If you will use the h2-rubberband functions in a productive way or backward compatible to 0.9.5, read in section four paragraph OPTIONAL SUPPORT.

How to build it?

mkdir build && cd build
cmake ..
make && sudo make install

Or to use a nice cmake config tool

./ g
ccmake build
cd build && make && sudo make install

Or simplest

./ m
cd build && sudo make install

We are happy about each feedback. Especially about constructive bug reporting.

Enjoy the new version and happy drumming.

Fedora compile - Required package

Hello, I needed to install the package 'graphviz' to compile this corectly in Fedora 15.

I got the error "dot: command not found"

It compiles properly now and seems to be working.

Thank you for a great program!

On Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick the

On Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick, Hydrogen 0.9.6 version performs much better than the 0.9.5 version that was stuttering a lot.

Like in 0.9.5, 0.9.6 also has only white rectangles for tooltips without any visible text. When downloading a sound library, it possible to click the window close button of the progress bar. It is to the end user unknow what has happened afterwards. Did the download abort, break of and leave incomplete result or whatever. Please improve this. There is also no way to deinstall or explicit way to reinstall/upgrade intrsument libs. The application can core dump when switching from one downloaded drumkit to another downloaded drumkit while playing.

Please also offer the songs, patterns and non-free drumkit to download to offer more means of testing and using Hyrogen.

Great that now FX are available. However, each is listed twice and I'm not sure if they are working (or I am not using them correctly).

That is it for now, keep up the good work!
