Don't listen to any sound on Hydrogen!

Hi!

I'm new at Hydrogen and I followed the tutorial to make something. While I was building the project I could listen to the sound, but then I saved the work and every time I tried to open it to listen to something (or even doing a new project) I don't listen to anything....even reinstalling it. Someone could help me?

PS: I'm using ubuntu oneiric ocelot and Hydrogen version is 0.9.5

Thanks :-)

it's a H2 config (see this part of the manual)

but since you are not aware of the driver you are using it's probably going to be plain ALSA.

when you reopen your saved project, can you hear the drum sounds when you click on the instrument names (left in the pattern editor) ?

Thank you thijs! :-)

I've just opened the manual, I'm going to see it. Still I don't know how driver my computer is running, however when I click on the instrument, after having reopened the saved project, I haven't listened to any sound.

PS: maybe I've found another bug. Do i post the problem here? (sorry for my english if it's not so good :-) )

I think my problem is relevant enough to not start a new thread.

I'm just trying out Hydrogen, and at first I couldn't get any sound either. Then I played a bit with the sound settings, to the point where it's now set to ALSA, and driver is hw:0. That part is probably correct because I hear something, but it doesn't sound right. Every note gives just a piece of noise for a fraction of a second. What do I need to do?

Edit: I got the sound working, it's now set to plughw:1. But the notes still aren't very clear, plus the tempo is a bit random. Seems like it needs more memory. But there are hardly any other programs running :s

sounds like jitter

i would really advise you to switch to jack.  it gives you much more control over your audio settings.
