I have Ubuntu running on VMware. Hydrogen runs on this set-up with ALSA drivers. Will jack work with VMware? When I try to start jack with qjackctl, I get the following messages:

15:04:46.289 Patchbay deactivated.

15:04:46.329 Statistics reset.

15:04:46.381 ALSA connection change.

15:04:46.403 D-BUS: Service is available (org.jackaudio.service aka jackdbus).

Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory

Cannot connect to server socket

jack server is not running or cannot be started

15:04:46.411 ALSA connection graph change.

15:05:31.425 Statistics reset.

Any idea what the problems is ?

Thanks,

Hi!

I have no idea about any jack issues with vmware, but i can only recommend that you ask the question again at the jack mailinglist, i'm quite shure that the jack devs can help you more, since this seems to be a pure jackd problem.
