Making drumkit from sf2 and Hydrogen limitations

Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I've started using Hydrogen recently and I've liked it very much. Now I'm trying to make drumkit from Papelmedia Drumkit, an sf2 found at sf2midi.com. So far I've half-done with a thing capable of something like this: http://dan.solutions.lv/my_music/test_drumtrack.ogg

I've encountered some limitations of Hydrogen, namely:

1. It doesn't support stereo samples. Nearly all samples in the papelmedia drumkit are stereo (separate samples for L and R channel). Currently I'm setting up L and R samples as separate drums in Hydrogen, with one of them panned 100% to L, and another - to R. This renders "Human latency" function unusable, as it creates highly audible panning artifacts, and "Human velocity" also sounds quite funny (of cource, in the pattern editor I ought to duplicate everything for both channels, and I need to be quite precise about setting velocity).

2. I'm afraid I gonna run out of instrument "heap space" in the mixer quite soon, as it allows 32 instruments max, and, because of (1), i'm effectively limited to 16.

Any ideas? :-?

hi Daniil,
hydrogen supports stereo samples since v0.1! But you need a "real" stereo sample. The real limitation is that you are loading 2 separate samples, one for the left channel and the other for the right.
I think that you need to create a stereo sample inside a sound editor and then load it in hydrogen.

Wow! I was *sure* it doesn't support stereo samples :) Well if it *does* - that's simply wonderful :) Making a stereo wav from two mono is not a problem. Thanks for telling me! :D

No problem :)
The soundfont is free? If so, will you share this new drumkit with us? ;)

Well, sf2 drumkit is located here:
http://www.papelmedia.de/english/download/monat.htm

I think it can be treaten as "free". If I'll end up with something useful, I'll share it with others. :)
