I installed Hydrogen for the first time and It's in half Croatian\half Spanish (supposed to be Croatian I guess). How do I change it to English? I'm Croatian but I prefer my programs in English, also the grammar and spelling really sucks :D .

Hi SickBrick,

you did not mention what OS you have, but you can on a Linux console hydrogen this way call:

$ LANG= hydrogen

If I do not do that, my Hydrogen comes in Portuguese with some (or all) symbols wrong encoded :-(

Jeff

And for Windows?

I know the file hydrogen.conf needs to be modified but I dont know where, exactly. We are talking about the  file in the username\hydrogen folder, right?

I found the hydrogen.conf file in my user directorty in Windows, but i didn't find any reference to language or locale in it.

But I found a good workaround :-)

Go to the hydrogen program directory, then go to \data\i8n

In my case, the full path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Hydrogen\data\i18n

This directory contains the translation files.

I renamed the translation files of my language (.nl):

  • hydrogen.nl.qm -> hydrogen.nl.qm.old
  • hydrogen.nl.ts -> hydrogen.nl.ts.old

Now, hydrogen doesn't find the language files anymore that correspond to the locale of my computer, and it then returns to the default English!

I know, it is a bit nasty, but I don't find the clean way to do it.
