Can midi notes below 36 be used with hydrogen?

I have a Yamaha Dtxplorer which I would like to hook up to hydrogen but there's a problem. My understanding is that hydrogen only recognises midi notes 36 and upwards? The snare and kick play out on 31 and 33. Is there a way I can make hydrogen recognise these notes or is there some kind of workaround? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Ok, i've spent some time with this and I believe Hydrogen can assign any midi note for sending from any instrument event but that the midi notes it can recieve are fixed? Is that correct? Unfortunately, with the Dtxplorer, I can't edit the send notes. It lacks that functionality. Anyone have any ideas on how I can make it work? Any suggestions for programmes that can change the note values on Linux?

correct

the output can be configured, the input notes not

however, Sebastian -one of the main coders- is/was(?) working on this.  he has created an experimantal branch on github (see https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/tree/midi_input_mapping) but i have no id what state this is in ..

Sebastian, can you tell a little bit more about this ?

Hi!

Well, the midi-mapping branche is not usable at the moment, and i really don't know when i will continue the work. I would recommend to use a linux midi mapper - there should be some out there.. and then map 31 and 33 to sth. that hydrogen understands!

Thanks for clarifying that. I will go on the hunt for a midi mapper now :) If anyone has any specific recommendation, that would be helpful. Thanks
