Hi

If someone is interested I wrote a bash script wich converts NI Batterys .kit files to Hydrogens drumkit.xml. I keep my samples on ntfs partition so I made the script to symlink the samples and not to copy them - you save your hd space. Besides the symlinks names are deprived of spaces in their names. That's becouse I had problems with spaced filenames. The only problem is that Battery have 54 instrument slots. Many kits use all of them and I wonder about the solution. Maybe the best is to split such kit to 2 Hydrogens kit? Waiting for your opinion :)

I'm really interested!!!

I never used NI Battery, how the drumkits are organized?
Can you send me the script and some (free) battery drumkits in order to try it?
If the script works well I can also include it directly in hydrogen :)

I just found out that my script works probably only with Battery ver. 1 kits :/ When you asked me about some free kits I went to NI site, downloaded Battery 2 demo version with 5 kits included and I found out they have different extension and they are encoded or something. Kits dedicated to first version were written in XML so they were quite comprehensible. If you still wish to look at it just give me your email.
And if you want free convertable kits you can go to www.kvraudio.com, if you're not register you'll have to, log in, go to page about Battery (you can find quick links to instrument in the upper left corner) then click on "Download Banks".

I was just on the verge of writing this kind of script myself. If you have it, please pass it over. Battery ver. 1 is fine, my battery kits are xml files.

I would also be really interested in this, if it isn't exclusively Linux. I worked with Battery 1 and DFH1 when I was on Windows, then switched to an Intel Mac and Battery 1 won't run anymore. I'm trying to get everything working on Hydrogen.

I would like to use the script. I'm currently moving from macos to Linux for music making and this will help a lot!!!

Is it available somewhere on the web?
