Im running 0.9.6 on Ubuntu Studio. I have set the Audio to Jack but the Jack Transport/Jack Maste buttons are not made available to me. I am also running 0.9.6 on Windows and it works fine. Is there somthing I could be missing or a bug in the Linux version ?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I did read the manual and as stated:

"Click J. TRANS to enable Jack transport. If the J. MASTER button is pressed Hydrogen will work as 'master', else it will act as 'slave' to another 'master' program (e.g. Ardour). This applet is only available if Jack Audio Driver is selected."

I do have the Jack Audio Driver selected but still nothing. Was there somthing else in the manual that you were refering to ?

are you sure the audio driver is set to Jack and not to 'auto' ?

I set it to Jack and hit ok but if I go back and look at it again it is set to auto.

I guess I am at a loss as why that would be. Any suggestions to debug ?

Just a follow up. As I said I set the Audio output to Jack and the Master button would not show up. I did confirm in the Debug/Show Audio Info and it shows Audio is set to Jack and the master/slave button is still not showing up. Until I/we get this resolved are you familiar with an external program that will work as a master and let you set bpm and output the clock to midi. My goal is to be able to control the bpm as well as output midi clock to my Boomerang Looper in order to sync. it with Hydrogen. Ardour seems to work but I was hoping for somthing a little more dedicated. Any thoughts.. anyone ?

i just had a similar issue, and i could work aroud it by manually editing the config file

can you post the output this command :

 cat ~/.hydrogen/hydrogen.conf | grep audio_driver

it should show this <audio_driver>Jack</audio_driver>

yep seems like a bug

from your screenshots i can tell that the audio driver is set to'auto', but since hydrogen detects that jack is running it switches to jack as audio driver

this however is not enough to enable the jack tansport buttons

you can work aroud this problem by editing your hydrogen config file and changing this line :

<audio_driver>Auto</audio_driver>

to this :

<audio_driver>Jack</audio_driver>

note the captial J in Jack

you can use whatever text editor you want, but i normally use nano for these simple edits :

nano ~/.hydrogen/hydrogen.conf

locate the <audio_driver> line and change Auto to Jack

restart hydrogen and your problem should be solved
