"Separating" patterns

I have a song with a single pattern, I want to separate the instruments into different patterns.

For example, imagine a pattern with kick, snare, ride, hh and handclap. What I want to do is create new patterns each one named after all the different parts (including the ones without notes) and each having the notes from the 'mother' pattern that match the pattern name. So in the end there would be a bunch of new patterns all named according to the instrument and contain the notes for that instrument from the original mother pattern.

This way it would be easy to program a song by it's parts and adding and removing them at will without needing to use the mixer, mainly because I don't know if I'm wrong but there is no mixer automation, is there?

Because if there was, then there's little point in doing it the way I describe here.

Any opinion on this?

A cool things would be to be able to copy a track in a pattern and then paste it to another pattern. Well worth putting this on the roadmap.

Cool :)

Maybe also dragging the track in a pattern from a pattern window and dopping it in another pattern in the song editor.
