Hey, first of all...THANKS! amazing program and for such a few developers it seems to be amazing. More important than the amazingly fast interface fro working is the great sound and range of kits already available. I never would have guessed that there would be such a great kit out here.

I don't know if everyone has found this kit comes with GNU gpl (free as in free to change and redistribute, not sure though) and already has a Hydrogen .xml kit file! for some reason it is not archived and zipped, so prepare for long download and read the readme for installation details. Basically you have to make the folder and then open up the provided demo song and it puts the kit into you drumkit manager, but read the readme for details.

For all of those who are looking for a more "metal" kit try using the sounds in this with eq and use the "pitch change" feature (one of the tiny knobs on the layer veiw of instrument manager) to record a different pitch bass drum sample then make a new .xml kit file and maybe leave out the sounds you may or may not use, add ones you like (snare, cymbal etc.) then build your own kit wit the original bass samples and maybe a *slightly*...I think 2.1 and less of pitch shift down worked ok. still trying it out. regardless go easy and then once you make the kit you can always drop it a little more. Then you have a good double bass sound!

If you rebuild the kit with a double bass then maybe it would be great for metal too? I think you can archive this one into a . h2drumkit file, the author just seems to want to offer the samples individually form his server also for people who want them...not to sure.

Here is another to help reduce bandwidth for owner of below. This link also has the .xml file all ready with it. columboacousticdrumkit.zip only a few megabytes and has the samples needed, the .xml, the demo to load after you unzip into the folder is also inlcluded to load the samples into the sample repository or drumkit manager. please click on this often to keep this link working, thanks. http://files-upload.com/files/457814/ColomboAcousticDrumkit.zip

What do you think? Basically you can rebuild PLUS you don't have to use the same liscense if modified? Not experienced with this, If I make a double bass kit I may upload if you like and gpl allows. Let me know.

Thanks for the great program, keep up the great work Enjoy new kit if you haven't found it already.:)

you can download the entire kit using:

This drumkit doesn't come with the .xml file, and Hydrogen seems to need it to run the demo song, which seems to be necessary to install the drumkit... Anyone got this .xml somewhere ?

Thanx.

Here is a link to a putfile.

http://putstuff.putfile.com/92743/9859575

It will be up for 30 days from the last click. It is exported from MusixGNU and it has all the credits with it when loaded, but it is only the .h2kit though.

So, the mods may want to put this with a the readme and .h2song file from the site into a .zip for downloading. I don't know, so I just posted the h2kit file. It is a little large, but contains all sounds of course.

I'll take a look at the drumkit and ask the permission to include it in the downloadables sound libraries.

Thanks!

where does wget download to?

wget will download the files to your current working directory. You may want to create a new directory to put them in... the wget command downloads all of the files individually.

@DougH

Can you reupload your file please? It seems that the putfile Link is down, or at least not available! That would be great!!

Thx,
Acker

Hey DougH,

I am also looking for a more MEATL sounding kit.
How do you save a new kit? or creat e it yourself?

Anybody else have some advice on making a Metal kit?
