Tried to compile on 10.4.9, but got errors:

bennyp@Medium-Brain hydrogen-20070428 $ QTDIR=/usr/local/Trolltech/Qt-4.2.3/ ./configure && make

Hydrogen is now configured for building. Just run 'make'.
Once everything is built, you must run 'make install'.

Hydrogen will be installed in /usr/local prefix by default.

See the INSTALL file for details.

Ben, seems that a recent change I made has introduced a bug in the mac build...just hold until...now :-D I just fixed it...

Daffy, I cannot prepare a new windows build until I found some time to reinstall all the stuff again in a new pc...I'm afraid but I'm tired to reinstall winxp every month...

I just discovered this software a few days ago, and I must say, it is very nice. Thanks for all the time you have committed to this project.

I'm a Windows XP user also and was hoping the development versions could also be tested on Windows.

Thanks again so much for creating this program.

I got no errors running ./configure, but when I try to compile i get this :

bla...bla... bla... (lots of stuff that might as well be greek to me :-) )
src/Precompiled.h:19:20: error: QLibrary: No such file or directory
src/Precompiled.h:20:16: error: QDir: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [hydrogen.gch/c++] Error 1

make[1]: *** [sub-hydrogen] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/sandy/Desktop/hydrogen-20070428/libs'
make: *** [sub-libs] Error 2

btw. I'm running Feisty (Ubuntu), any plans for a 9.4 release now that UbuntuStudio is here ?
I know that 9.3 is in the repros, but a "hihat exclusive group" (mute group) would make my life SO much easyer :-)

Thanks Comix,

I would like to help out and will compile a Windows version. I know there was a basic set of instructions for how to compile Hydrogen on Windows on the old wiki but I can't find it any more.

I have QT4 and am using MinGW to compile. What other libraries will I need?

What changes have been made? Is the tag implemented yet?

bennyp, the
"cc1plus: error: unrecognized command line option "-fno-stack-protector"
error is due to the -fno-stack-protector option being new with some versions of gcc/g++ but not others, like the 3.4.6 version included with my slackware 11 distro.
I just looked for it in all the makefiles and deleted when I found it, then my compile went fine.
Hopefully I didn't break anything :)
The program seems to run ok, (except for the missing button images)

OK,

I have built a compilation environment inside a VMWare image which means I can bring it up at will whenever a new snapshot needs to be cut :-)

I have set up Eclipse CDT as a development environment and have pulled down the trunk from the Hydrogen SubVersion stream.

I have pulled down MinGW, MSYS and MsysDTK and have set that up as the compiler.

I have worked through and have downloaded the following libraries , and am compiling them in order:
libpthread_2.8.0
libogg_1.1.3
libvorbis_1.1.2
libFLAC_1.1.4
asiosdk2.1
libsndfile_1.0.18
portmidi
portaudio_1.9
QT_4.2.3

Can you see anything I might have missed?
